AHCs are the official documents required for travel with your pets to the European Union or Northern Ireland.
Pet Passports issued in Great Britain are NOT valid for travel from January 1st, 2021. You will need to apply for an AHC.
You will need an AHC if your pet is traveling from the UK to an EU country.
If your pet is traveling to a non-EU country, different rules apply. You may need to obtain additional documentation or blood tests. Please contact us as soon as possible before your travel and we will be ready to assist you.
Please visit www.gov.uk/taking-your-pet-abroad for the latest government information about pet travel.
- Your pet will need to be microchipped.
- Your pet must be vaccinated against rabies (at least 21 days prior to the AHC appointment).
- Your pet will need a tapeworm treatment administered between 1 to 5 days before traveling to Finland, Ireland, Malta or Norway.
Our routine service needs to be booked at least 10 days before the delivery date you request. We can provide AHCs in a shorter time frame but this service is subject to availability. Whenever possible, please contact us as soon as you start planning your trip.
The owner and the pet both need to be present when we deliver your AHC. Our team will scan your pet´s microchip and the owner will need to sign a declaration that your trip is for non-commercial reasons.
Your AHC is valid for 10 days after signing. You can use your AHC for up to 4 months for ongoing travel between EU countries from the date your pet first enters the EU.
Once we have received your completed order request and confirmed your pet is eligible for travel, we will send you a secure payment link via email. You will then have 24 hours to make payment and secure your home visit appointment.
Send us a note here if you have a question, comment, or press enquiry.
